Setting Up Outlook After
Upgrading from Outlook 97, 98, or 2000
These instructions assume that your previous
versions of Outlook 97, 98, or 2000 were also configured to work with the
Exchange server. They are not for the Outlook versions configured to work
as a POP3 client.
After you have rebooted the computer, double
click on the Microsoft Outlook icon. A setup wizard should appear.
You will be asked if you used a previous version of Outlook for your email
before, click yes to this question. For any other questions, take the
defaults. Click next until the wizard is finished. Outlook will open
and will ask you if you want Outlook to be your default mail program, click on
yes. Outlook will then open up and you will have access to all your
mail. If you had a personal address book before, Outlook will ask you if
you want to import those into your contacts folder. Click on yes. A
window will pop up asking you where you want to import them to. Make sure
that the contacts folder is highlighted and click ok. Note:
Attachments, (if edited with HTML), will appear in the message header rather
than the body of the message. Double-click on the attachment icon to open
it.
