To begin, select the Mail icon. How you locate the Mail icon depends on your operating system.
Windows 2003:
- Click Start >
- Settings >
- Control Panel >
- Double-click the Mail icon

- Click the Start button
- type "mail" in the search bar
- click the Mail icon that appears under Programs above

The Mail Setup - Outlook window will appear.
- Choose E-mail Accounts...

- Choose New... under the E-mail tab in the Accout Settings window.

The system may automatically detect your settings and populate your E-mail Address.
- If it does, you may choose Next. This will configure your E-mail account.
- Click Finish

- In the Auto Account Setup windows, click the box in the bottom left that allows you to Manually configure server settings or additional server types.
- Select Next

- Choose Microsoft Exchange for your E-mail Service.
- Select Next.

- Type exchange in the "Microsoft Exchange Server" name box.
(Off-campus users should enter exchange.unh.edu, instead.)
- Uncheck (if checked) the Use Cached Exchange Mode button.
- Type your IT ID (AD account name) in the "User Name" box.
(If you receive an error after clicking Check Name, contact the system administrator for further assistance at 603-862-4242.)

- When you are finished, click Check Name.Your full name and the exchange server name should become underlined.
(Note: There are several server names; "tamarin" is just one example. Exchange will automatically resolve to the appropriate server that holds your account.)
- Click Next to continue.

Congratulations, you have successfully setup Outlook to work with the UNH Exchange Server.
