Outlook 2003 Address Book

Using the Global Address List (GAL)
You do not need to maintain a list of all the different University contacts with Outlook. Instead, one can simply find any University contact using the Global Address Book, or GAL. To get to the Global Address Book, click Tools, and then Address Book, as shown below.

A window similar to the one below will pop up. Simply type in the name of the contact needed.

Using Contacts
The Contacts folder is a place to keep your non-USNH e-mail addresses and personal distribution lists. Along with being able to store their e-mail address, you can store their mailing address, phone numbers, and many other pieces of information. This folder may be viewed by selecting Contacts from the navigation bar on the left, as shown below.

To add a new contact, simply click "New," which is an icon that can be found under the file menu.

Setting up a Personal Distribution List:
A Personal Distribution List is a group of people to whom you can send the same e-mail message simultaneously. To create a personal distribution list, while the contacts folder is viewed, click on File, New, and Distribution List. The window shown below will appear. To add names to this distribution list, click Select Members (outlined in red below). Then double click the names of the people you wish to add to your list.

Remember to give the list a name. When you are finished, click Save and Close.
