Views in Outlook 2007

The Outlook Today view (pictures below) is your essential “homepage” for Outlook 2007. This view shows you an up to date look at your scheduled appointments, tasks, and email. With many styles and customizable options, you are able to set your view options to your own unique style. To get to this view, simply click on the “Mailbox” tab (outlined in red) located on the left portion of your screen, under the “Folder List”.

E-Mail
The mail view contains all the tools needed to send, receive, and view your incoming and outgoing emails. By clicking on any of the mail folders to the left, your center view is instantly changed to that folder. For instance, by clicking on your “Inbox” folder, the inbox will be shown in the center of your screen. (pictured below) On the right side of the screen, you will see the current email you have open. Notice in the center, the email you have open is highlighted to help you keep track of which email you are viewing.

Public Folders
Outlook 2007 has made it easy to access your public folders. On the left side under your “folder list” tab, you will find the tab called “public folders”. (outlined in red below) Simply click to open this folder. Once opened you will notice a few subfolders have opened below it, such as “favorites” or “all folders”. This is there to help you better organize your public folders if it starts to get congested. Public folders enable members of a specific group to access the same folder(s). With that said, you will only have access to the public folders you are granted permission to, as some will not pertain to you or your group.
